How can I access Unity Sexual Health services?

Unity Sexual Health covers Bristol, North Somerset & South Gloucestershire.

  • I don’t have symptoms

    Order a Testing Kit

    You can request a home test-kit if you do not have anything wrong and simply wish to have a check-up or tests for infection.

    Click here for a home test kit.

    After answering a few questions and providing your details, the kit will be posted out to the address you give. The kit contains instructions explaining how you take your samples at home and then you post this back to us in a pre-paid envelope.

    Your results will be available within 3 weeks for Chlamydia, gonorrhoea, HIV and syphilis.

     

    Attend a Unity clinic 

    If you do not have anything wrong and simply wish to have a check-up or tests for infection you can attend a Unity clinic and be seen for discussion, testing and treatment as needed.

    Attend an LGBTQ+ outreach clinic – various locations

    If you identify as LGBTQ+ you can visit an outreach clinic for HIV rapid testing, chlamydia and gonorrhoea tests

  • I have pain to pee, discharge or irritation or tingling

    If you have symptoms of:

    • Pain when you pee
    • Discharge from the vagina, penis or bottom
    • Irritation or tingling of the vagina, penis or bottom

     

    Attend a Unity clinic

    If you have symptoms as those above, you need to be seen in one of our clinics where we can do all of the necessary tests at your visit.

    These clinics are in Unity Central, Unity @ Concord Medical Centre in Little Stoke (BS34) or Unity @ WISH in Weston-super-mare.   • I have lumps, bumps , rash or pain

    If you have symptoms:

    • Lumps, bumps or rash
    • Pain in your stomach, testicles or elsewhere

     

    Attend a Unity clinic

    If you have symptoms as those above, you need to be seen in one of our clinics where we can do all of the necessary tests at your visit.

  • I want to speak to someone

    For those who have problems not outlined above, or if you want to speak to someone before coming in, you can call our health advisers on 0117 342 6944, or come to any of our Unity clinics.

  • I want to be seen but its not urgent

  • I have been referred by my GP or another healthcare provider

    Some people may be referred to our service by their GP or another healthcare provider.

    Depending on the nature of the referral, your GP  may advise you to attend a Unity clinic or they will write to us and you will receive a phone call or letter with details of an appointment time.

    You may be given an appointment at any of our clinics.

  • I am pregnant and want an abortion

    If you are pregnant and are unsure about what to do,  you can make an appointment with our Pregnancy Advisory Service.

    Call the Unity Central Booking Line 0345 872 5435. This number is available 24 hours a day.

    You can call yourself or someone else can make the call on your behalf. The staff will ask you for your name, address and your GP details (if you have one). They will make an appointment for you to have either a telephone or face-to-face appointment to discuss your pregnancy options and formulate a plan for you. If you are having difficulty reaching a decision we can give you accurate information about how many weeks pregnant you are and your options.

    If you are under 18 years old you will need to identify a supporting adult (someone who is over 18) to support you during the abortion process.
