Puberty is the physical changes that happen when a girl becomes a woman.
For girls puberty can start between 8 and 14 years old.

Signs of puberty include:
Hair grows on the vagina

Breasts and hips often get bigger.

You get your period. This is when you bleed from your vagina once a month. Some girls do not start having periods until they are 16.
Your vagina may produce discharge (fluid).

You might also notice:
- You might get taller
- Hormones can make you sweaty so you might want to start using deodorant if you don’t already.
- You might have mood swings and feel emotional.
